UNIVERSITY OF PESHAWAR HOSTS CHINESE ARTS EXHIBITION AND COMPETITION

The China Study Centre, University of Peshawar, organised a Chinese Arts Exhibition and Competition to celebrate China’s rich cultural heritage and the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and China. The exhibition, held at the New Academic Block, was jointly organised by the China Study Centre and the Department of Arts and Design. A large number of students and faculty members attended the event and appreciated the skill and talent of students who created the artworks. The event marked the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China and aimed to foster cultural exchange and promote mutual understanding through art. Students from the Department of Fine Arts showcased diverse works, including paintings, calligraphy, and ceramic pieces inspired by traditional Chinese motifs. Several exhibits skillfully blended Chinese artistic elements with Pakistani cultural themes, symbolising the friendship and cultural harmony between the two nations. Faculty members, students, and distinguished guests attended the exhibition and commended the participants’ creativity. Speaking at the event, Dr. Noor Sanauddin, Chief Organiser, highlighted the importance of such initiatives in strengthening people-to-people ties and encouraging students to explore cross-cultural artistic expression within the broader framework of Pakistan-China friendship and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He also appreciated the role of the Chinese Embassy for financial support for this event and hoped that more and more such events would be organised in the near future. Prof. Muhammad Naeem Qazi, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University, presided over the closing ceremony, where prizes and certificates were distributed to outstanding participants
