Prof. Dr. Zahid Anwar, Director, China Study Center and Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar delivered a welcome address and appreciated the. Efforts of the organizers of the conference on, “Accessibility Inclusion”. He said that the University of Peshawar is the oldest, largest and well reputed university of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and there are accessibility issues in the old physical infrastructure and buildings but the University is aware about the sensitivity of the issue and committed to bring required modifications in the buildings with the accessibility issues of students with different abilities. In this regard, he welcomed the national and international organizations for collaborative efforts to assist UoP for making UoP as an Accessibility University for all.
The Department of Social Work, University of Peshawar, in collaboration with “Pak Ever Bright Development Organization” (PEDO), International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Northwest General Hospital has organized one day Conference on “Accessibility Inclusion Conference” on 29th December 2022, in ASC Hall, University of Peshawar.
The conference started with recitation from the Holy Quran which was followed by the National Anthem of Pakistan.
The Conference was focused on Climate Resilience, Accessibility Code Building Bylaws in Pakistan and Higher Education Commission (HEC) Policy of Pakistan for Students with Disabilities.
