Bilal Durrani, the General Secretary of Pakistan China Friendship Association, visited the China Study Centre, University of Peshawar today to discuss issues of mutual interest. The Director of the China Study Centre, Dr. Noor Sanauddin, provided updates regarding the Centre’s activities, particularly the shifting of the Centre to a new building on campus. The building needs renovation and refurbishment, which will be completed in the next couple of months.
The Director also informed Mr. Durrani that a new cheque for the Ambassador Scholarship, amounting to 4 million rupees, has been provided by the Chinese Embassy for the students of the University of Peshawar, which will be awarded to students soon.
Mr. Durrani appreciated the active role of the China Study Centre and suggested that the Centre might consider having its own dedicated building on campus, fully equipped with research and teaching facilities.
It was also decided to organize a joint event in the near future between the Centre and the Association.
